U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert, a Republican from Colorado, was removed from a performance of "Beetlejuice The Musical" in Denver on Sunday after reportedly vaping and disrupting the show. Surveillance video obtained by the media appears to confirm these allegations.
The incident occurred during a matinee performance at the Buell Theatre in Denver's Arts District. Witnesses claimed that Boebert was vaping inside the theater, which is a violation of the venue's policy. She reportedly also engaged in loud and disruptive behavior, including talking during the performance and using her phone.
Security personnel approached Boebert and asked her to stop her disruptive behavior. When she refused, she was escorted out of the theater. Boebert later denied wrongdoing, claiming that she was "singled out" because of her political affiliations.
The Denver Police Department confirmed that they responded to a disturbance at the theater but did not release any further details. The incident has sparked controversy, with some criticizing Boebert's behavior while others defended her right to attend the performance.
